Purpose
The purpose of the event is to present how architecture and architects can contribute to meet the 17 UN SDGs by 2030, by presenting concrete examples from Denmark, keeping in mind that local urban planning and architecture should be adjusted to the local climate, culture and special conditions. To move forward conducting the plans, new solutions and new inspirations are needed, for which the Danish examples might fulfil that role. Therefore, we would like to share with you the Danish approach into realizing UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals by presenting cases from Denmark.
The background of having this event is also related to the fact that in January of 2019 the Polish Ministry of Environment announced a set of new plans for the development of Urban Adaptation in cities with more than 100,000 inhabitants (the 44 MPA Plan). These 44 Polish cities will, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, participate in a project aimed at adapting them to the currently observed climate changes. This project will be a first step to adapt urban areas to climate changes, as a role-model for other areas and a point of reference for further work in the field of adaptation in Poland.
